"...I am immersed in the limitless color palette of painting, enjoying its more intuitive, quicker pace of change. I build surfaces using applied layers of textured paper and thickening gels. The imagery is developed through gestural mark making and the creation of forms from light and dark. It is a free mind dance, without conscious thought or intent, suggesting both movement and emotion. The sequential nature of the process engenders a sense of history and relationships; it's a story, laid down on the canvas..." —Susan Wise 

Deep indigo, navy, and cerulean strides across Wise's canvas, meeting at an elegant cross section over a sea of textured white. Hints of yellow come to the surface, providing a subtle contrast.
