Charles Pachter (b. 1942) is one of the most collected and cherished Canadian artists.
His iconic, uplifting and patriotic images have independently earned their place in the nation's museums and the Canadian art canon.
The barn, along with and , forms a triad of icons that Pachter has repeatedly visited over the course of his career. However Pachter is also fascinated by other Canadian icons - including the canoe, the Monarch butterfly, the loon, Polar Bear, butter tarts and of course the Maple leaf.
Utilizing Pachter’s iconic Canadian imagery of the maple leaf, “Be Leaf Me” displays a flat ground and expressively executed subject matter.
